A Little Kindness

Showing others kindness is, in my humble opinion, one of the most gratifying and fulfilling things you can do.  It generally costs little more than effort, and it can honest change lives.  We often take small gestures of kindness for granted.   Remembering Kindness   I grew up with disability in the household.  My mother had Multiple Sclerosis, and passed away just over 10 years ago.  When I was 10 or 11, she.. Life’s Lessons #1 – Addiction

I would like to share my story with you in the form of what I will call ‘Life’s Lessons’.  Each entry entitled this way will focus on something I have learned along my journey.  My hope is that you will find something in my story that you can relate to, or perhaps can relate to someone you know and care about.  My story is one of grief, addiction, and disconnection.  It’s an all.. A New Beginning

Hello! My name is Stephen, and over the course of my 30 short years of life, I can say, with certainty and conviction, that I have spent the overwhelming majority of my time on auto-pilot.     It’s easy enough to do – we spend years in school or at university, studying for an imagined future, building and striving towards a picture that does not yet exist.   And if you are.. Mindfulness Retreat in Nature

Mindfulness

Why mindfulness in nature? Is practicing mindfulness is nature any different than meditating in the city? I believe being in nature makes it easier to connect with ourselves and be present with what is happening in the moment. I had the great pleasure to facilitate the first ever 1-day mindfulness retreat for Conscious Beginnings on Sunday, 27th of November 2016. “Rest you mind and connect with nature” was the theme of this rejuvenating.. Boost Your Happiness Workshop

Serenity

I am happy to announce that I facilitated my first workshop “Boost Your Happiness” on Saturday 28th of February. Although, I have been running weekly mindfulness workshops for free since October 2014, this was the first time where attendees paid for my workshop. The idea of running workshops came to me awhile back with the idea to reach the maximum amount of people and spread consciousness. It was a gradual process with ups.. Read More

Relationship between Social Connections and Happiness

We are social beings. No matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert; we all have the need to connect with others. We are born in families, live in communities and help each other to overcome obstacles. According to the Science of Happiness course by UC Berkeley, we are “ultrasocial” beings who not only care for our own offspring but also for others in need through empathy, generosity, and cooperation. In this.. Read More

Tips for a Happy Relationship!

Maintaining a healthy relationship can be difficult at times. I surely had enough ups and downs in my relationship with my wife to provide some firsthand suggestions but let’s take a look at some of the latest research in the field. What is the secret of a happy marriage or a relationship? In their famous study of “the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse”, Gottman and Levenson have documented that four specific behaviours in.. Does Money Bring Happiness?

In this article, we will go beyond the proven facts that exercise, good sleep patterns and achievements contribute to our happiness. We will look at the scientific research to understand effective ways of cultivating happiness and challenge the myth “money brings happiness”. What makes us happy? When we identify happiness as pleasure or having our needs met, we end up in a vicious circle. Many of us, especially in the Western societies, associate.. Read More
